#FabFallFest: Fall Home Tour

Behind the Big Green Door Fall Home Tour #FabFallFest

How do you get your home ready for Fall? Better yet, the question should be...do you get your home ready for Fall? For Fall I like to make my home feel extra cozy through the use of heavier fabrics and by bringing some outdoor elements inside. This year my colors for my home have moved more towards navy blue, black, gray and a little bit of brown. I made updates to my entryway, living room, dining, and kitchen. So come on in and take a look!

Entryway:

I updated my entryway by adding a neural tan rug to my space. Previously I have a brighter rug. I also added an arrangement of branches and leaves to the entryway. They are the greenery filler at the store and they are usually on clearance by my house. I love these little arrangements and you will see them sprinkled throughout the tour.

Living Room:

In my living room, I made a lot of updates through adding textures such as faux fur and leather, a plush rug and thick cushy pillows. I added a couple of matching throws from the At Home. My daughter has claimed it as her own. She loves to wrap up in it and watch Netflix.

I picked up some great pillows from At Home that I absolutely love. The pillow section at At Home is literally overflowing so if you are looking for pillows you are sure to find something! Also, if you remember this zebra pillow from my recent post

I covered a thrifted wooden box serve as extra seating (I'll share the tutorial on that soon) and moved my red chair over to the corner. As the weather gets cooler we tend to spend more time indoors. Because of this I have taken the coffee table out of the living room. We are tall people and like to stretch out so we find it more cozy without the table.

I had the random idea to paint my fireplace black. I looooove how it turned out!

Wire baskets seem to be my thing right now, so I was instantly in love with this wire basket from At Home. Wire baskets was a way for me to add a little metal to the space. I generally gravitate towards wicker baskets but wire is stealing the show. I love the little copper handles on this basket.

In going with my theme, I found this rug at a bargain shop. When it comes to rugs, I love simple rugs that I can use in a variety of spaces. I like changing my decor around quite a bit so buying items that has a multi-use is important.

I also add a DIY Yarn Wall Art to my space. It adds a bit of texture!

On my side table I add a cute little pumpkin from At Home and more greenery. I generally don't like pumpkin decor, but this one I felt was very cute and fit well into my home decor. Another thing that important to bring Fall in is scents.I love great fall scents. My favorite from At Home is Buttercreme.

I also recieved some prints from Fractureme.com. They are amazing. They actually print your pictures on glass. No frame needed. I thought it would be great to add a couple of photos around the house that tie in my color scheme and also remind me of family. This is my favorite print of my daughter taken by B.

Dining Room:

In the dining room I added alot of greenery. My table centerpiece was a DIY project I did of creating a Pine Cone and Flower center piece. I love it because I can easily update it with any flowers.

I added a bar station to my dining room. Fall is all about entertaining. I thought this would be great to have when my family and friends come to visit. I found so many amazing glasses and bar accessories from At Home! I love them all!

I've already starting my drink making, this little station just makes me want to make drinks all day! lol

Kitchen:

Lastly, my daughter and I love drinking hot drinks and teas in the Fall and Winter so I have updated my coffee area. I found this great little mug holder at At Home. That store seriously has everything!

All in all my reason for getting my home together is to make it extra cozy for my family. When you think of Fall decorating it doesn't have to be the traditional look of adding pumpkins. Think of ways you can make your home cozy such as rearranging the furniture to better fit how the room will be used or adding items that can be used to entertain family and friends.
