Easy DIY Holiday Photobooth for Home

Merry Christmas Eve! I cannot believe how fast Christmas came! My daughter has been counting down the "sleeps" til Christmas. The sleeps thing is a new one for me but it's super cute to watch her excitement grow everyday.

Today I want to share an easy DIY Holiday Photobooth for home! I love photo booths! The are so fun and pretty easy to put together. The thing is, there really is no wrong way to do it. You just put together what you like. I do have a few recommendations that I will share at the end.

So jumping right into it, I decided to place my photobooth in front of my window in the living room.

Using my curtains as a backdrop made this super easy and cost effective.

Next I added some white furry rugs from my daughter's room to represent snow. 

Next I started to layer with existing items I have around the house. I started with this vase and stick set and ottoman.

I then added my outdoor reindeer and strings of lights.

And then it was complete. The last thing to do is to grab some things around the house to use as props. You can really use whatever you have! My daughter and I gave it a test run before my peeps arrive!

Here are my tips:

1. Make you booth in front of an existing curtain. You can use the curtain rod to hang string lights and garland easily without adding any additional holes to the wall

2. Pick a color scheme. My colors are silver, brown and white. Since I grabbed things from around the house a color scheme helped to make things look more cohesive and professional

3. When taking pictures in your booth, make sure to crop out any of the background wall and flooring that isn't apart of the booth. This will make your photos look much better!

4. For props,use whatever you can find. Steal ornaments from the tree or drape yourself in lights!

5. The point of a photobooth is to have fun and create memorable pics. So lastly, my tip is to have fun!!

The Pajama Jam

Yesterday was my little one's birthday! We spent a couple of weeks trying to figure what to do for her birthday. I gotta tell you these party places are a RIP OFF! You get so little for so much cost. So this year, we decided to do something at the house. It turned out so cute! Rhy wanted a pajama party and made it a rule that not only kids come in pajamas but also adults too!

Yesterday was a day full of everything Rhy. She had a birthday photo shoot, followed by hitting up a local pizza shop and then her pajama jam! B does photography and did a great job of capturing the personality of Rhy we all know and love.

She surprisingly enjoyed her photo shoot and even suggested different ways she wanted her pictures taken. Afterwards we went to a cute little pizza spot that was in the area of where we took the pictures. Pizza is her favorite so it was right up her alley!

After pizza we hurried home to get her party ready. We went with a pink and white theme. The decor was simple but just perfect for what she needed. We brought the table down from my home office downstairs and used my bar station table for her presents. We did a simple backdrop of alternating pink and white streamers.

My mom made the cupcakes for the party. My daughter loves her cupcakes so this was a special order for her.

As party favors we made cute little hot chocolate jars. Rhyan love putting this little jars together. We put hot chocolate on the bottom, topped with marshmallows, chocolate chips, and peppermints. We found these cute printable gift tags that we printed and cut out. [the printables didn't have polka dots on them like the site said, but they were still cute and served its purpose.]

Once the party got started the girls played a game of musical manicure and twister. Afterwards they had a dance party in the dark with glow sticks. I think that was their favorite part! lol

After they partied themselves tired, a few of her cousins spent a night. I went upstairs to check on them and they were all passed out on the couch. I think that was a sign that they enjoyed themselves. The next morning we finished up with breakfast and by that time I was tired myself.

All in all we had a great day! I'm so glad that my little one was able to see another year of life. We are excited about watching her grow and so happy she had a great birthday!

Fall Bar Station + Tips to Make your Own

Happy Fall! With the change of seasons, I always get in the mood to clean my house up and make small changes. I have long been wanting to add a bar area to my home. When my daughter said she no longer wanted her desk I knew it would be perfect for a Fall Bar Station! 

See, Fall is here and this is the time to entertain, although we like to do it year round! I am very close with my family and friends who have turned into family. I love hosting my people at my house, rather we are sitting around talking and laughing or watching a movie, I love to have people over! This is my reason for getting my Fall Bar Station set up! 

When setting up my Fall bar station I had some essentials I knew I wanted; a shaker and ice bucket, a decanter (because I want to feel fancy lol), pretty glasses, a wine rack and scents and decor to remind me of Fall. I decked my cart out in some great finds from At Home. That store is amazing, there is beautiful home decor in every direction! I literally have spent hours in there just looking around and seeing what I can find!

When styling my station I used the shelves to hold my glasses and bucket and placed all my accessories and alcohol on top. Also to add some interest I chose to use a variety of heights and textures such as wood, glass and metal. That's one thing you want to keep in mind if you are trying to create an interesting space.

So if you need some tips on how to set up a Fall bar station, here is what I suggest:

1. Get the essentials - You know what type of drinks you like, get items that center around those drinks. For example if you like margaritas, get glasses, shakers and garnish items that are used for that type of drink [I love these glasses and bucket I found at At Home]

2. Mix textures and height for interest - If you want to keep the eye's attention you have to mix elements. Unexpected element will always garner some extra attention. [This cutting board from at At Home add some texture and this wire basket from Target is great for the mix]

3. Group Items with tray - Use a tray to group items together. Another great thing you can use are bowls. This will give your bar station a polished look [This wine holder from At Home is adorable and I love this tray from Hobby Lobby]

4. Add Fall touch - Consider adding fall touch with scents, floral decor or accents.

5. Set up - Place your bar station in an area where you entertain alot. That way everything is easily accessible and your guest will have everything nearby

oh, and I did find my decanter, yeah we are fake fancy now lol. B says he feel like an old man sitting in an office (you know like in the movies) every time we pours from it. I wish you could see him walking around acting old. It's too funny!
